Sportsman's Holiday Parade

Description

Get ready for the Sweet Home Sportsman's Holiday Parade on July 8th at 11am! The theme is "Welcome to Wonderland." Register for $10 to secure your spot and showcase your wildest Alice in Wonderland scenes. Join us for a fantastic journey through Wonderland on July 8th at 11am!


  • STAGING: ~ Staging area will open at 10:00am. ~ This is a first-come, first-serve line-up. Entries must line up on Long Street between 18th Avenue and 22nd Avenue, facing 22nd. Due to limited space, NO SUPPORT VEHICLES (vehicles not in the parade) will be allowed in the staging area. Overflow staging is on 22nd Ave; between Long St & Mountain View Rd.
  • HORSE (or livestock) & Riders: may stage in track gravel parking lot. ALL equestrian units or other units with live animals MUST provide their clean-up crew. The crews must pick up droppings in the staging area and parade route. You must have your clean-up crew to be allowed on the parade route. An adult must accompany any rider under the age of 12. 
  • CHILDREN: Floats must have one adult per every five children under 12 (not counting the driver). The float's responsible party must receive guardian permission for all the children under 18 on the float. 
  • No firearms or explosive devices of any nature shall be carried on the parade route except by organized Federal, State Military, the 40ET8 Locomotive, NW Civil War Council, and any historical or educational organization. 
  • No alcohol, drug, drug paraphernalia, or replicas of any of these will be allowed in the parade. 
  • No political themes will be allowed. 
  • The Parade Committee reserves the right to bar any unit whose costume or performance does not comply with these rules and regulations or conforms to reasonable community taste and decency standards. The Parade Committee's decision regarding all entrants, eligibility, and placement is final. 
  • NOTICE * KEEP YOUR SPEED DOWN TO ABOUT 3 MILES PER HOUR. STAY BACK FROM THE ENTRY IN FRONT OF YOU BY 4 CAR LENGTHS. A parade moving at walking speed, with some nice separation between entries, is more enjoyable for the spectators. 
  • Please help us keep this parade well-organized and fun for everyone.
